According to an announcement Alderman Patrick O’Connor posted in his Facebook Page on March 19th, 2019, the current developer of the former Edgewater Medical Center, MCZ Development, “is seeking a Planned Development amendment.” According to the alderman the amendment would increase the project’s dwelling units from 141 to 155 and decrease its parking spaces from 78 to 74.
The community will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed amendment at a public meeting at St. Gregory’s, 1609 W. Gregory St., on Thursday, April 4, at 7:00 p.m. At the meeting, where the community may ask questions about the proposed amendment and the project in general, the alderman states there should be representatives of MCZ and various city departments.

Terrific. Say hi if you are able to make it and see me.
Hello neighbors, I attended the community meeting on April 4 about proposed amendment to the Edgewater Medical Center redevelopment. I am a life-long Andersonville area resident, and have attended many community meetings about the property and plans for a park.
I am now on the Affordable Housing team for ONE Northside, through involvement with my church. I told ONE about the meeting. They are interested in a possibility of getting the affordable requirement increased from 10% to 30% since an amendment is now being proposed. New 40th Ward Ald. Vasquez is a strong advocate of 30%, and they would like to influence him to see what can be done.
I heard clearly at the meeting that WANT and WEAR don’t want the amendment, and I really don’t either. I am wondering if 30% affordable could be added without the changes to density and parking. ONE plans to invite Ald. Vasquez to attend the public hearing on April 18. I thought the two groups should know in case they might want to try to reach out to him as well.
Your neighbor, Gloria L. Evenson
