To build support for the Park Referendum that is appearing on the ballot February 22nd, The Friends of West Edgewater Park are distributing yard signs to area residents who want to show their support for West Edgewater Park.
In addition to voting for a new mayor on February 22nd, voters will be asked to weigh in on the following referendum: “Shall the City of Chicago develop a public park on the site of the Edgewater Medical Center, located in the 5700 block of North Ashland?”
“We hope the green signs popping up in the snow all over Edgewater and Andersonville will remind our neighbors to vote for the park on February 22nd,” says Bob Webb, a park supporter and volunteer who is helping to distribute the yard signs. “We have a huge opportunity here to turn the dilapidated hospital into a public green space that will benefit so many. A vote for the referendum shows our aldermen that we’re serious about a park.”
