Subject: RE: MEETING W/CITY DEPARTMENTS
Jeff and Chris,
Ald. O’Connor had phone calls today from the Departments of Community Development, Zoning & Land Use, and from Tim Mitchell @ the Park District. We were just informed by the Department of Community Development that the City won’t receive the results of the appraisal on the property until the end of August, early September. These departments have all said they will be happy to meet with us, but won’t do so until after we’ve received the appraisal. In addition, they’ve recommended to the Alderman that a meeting with elected officials should not take place until after we’ve seen the appraisal. Community Development will notify us when they’ve received the appraisal, and we will then move forward with meetings.
You’ve asked for clarification on use of TIF funds for 2010, and Ald. O’Connor has requested this information and breakdown from the Dept. of Community Development. As soon as we have this, I’ll pass it along.
Jeff, your request for a crosswalk was referred to the Department of Transportation some time back and they were going to do a traffic study. I’ll follow up with them for a status.
In addition, attorney Dan Fajerstein, who said he’s been working with Chris, has requested a meeting with Ald. O’Connor to discuss the TIF. I will be calling Dan to set something up as soon as I receive some information specific to this particular TIF that the Alderman has requested from Community Development which, hopefully, will be in the very near future.
I’m out of the office on unpaid furlough days tomorrow and Monday but as soon as I know anything more, I’ll be in touch.
